Acas East of England will be hosting our annual Conference for businesses and organisations in Hertfordshire and neighbouring counties: Key Trends & Challenges for HR in 2017 and beyond at the the Rowley Mile Racecourse in Newmarket on 11th January 2017.
Lucienne Jones, Acas' Director of Organisation Development and Human Resources, will be welcoming leading experts from the professional bodies, academia, private and public sector, to explore some of the hot topics and perennial problems in business in general and HR in particular.
Head of London CIPD, David D’Souza will be providing an overview of the current challenges for HR professionals, the new capabilities that they will need to adapt to the changing world of work and how HR needs to change its operating models to be fit for the future.
Russell Beck from Impellum will be explaining the generation game – managing the challenges of a multi-generational workforce. There are five generations currently in the UK workforce, each with different political, social and technological factors affecting their behaviour as work. How can managers play so their strengths and mitigate weaknesses?
In the afternoon experts from different organisational backgrounds will be running workshops/case studies or masterclasses:
Dawn Jarvis, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will be running a workshop on “Innovative approaches to transformational change”
Abigail Hirshman, Qualified Psychologist & Senior Adviser, Acas, will be teaching delegates “How to be Resilient”
Susan Hutchinson from the University of the West of England will be exploring “The link between people management and performance and the role of line managers in HR Management”.
And Russell Beck will be “Developing effective employee engagement strategies for business success”
