Bedfordshire Quarterly Economic Survey Results – Quarter 1 2016
Every quarter the 52 Chambers of Commerce in the UK participate in the Quarterly Economic Survey (QES). The QES is the UK’s biggest business survey and the first economic indicator of the quarter; overall nearly 8,500 business leaders a quarter respond to the survey.
The results are scrutinised by the Treasury and the Bank of England use the responses to help inform decisions around interest rates. Locally the Chambers use results as a barometer of the local economy and to influence Local Authorities and the Local Enterprise Partnership.
