Conservation By Design (CXD) has celebrated its 21st Anniversary as the industry’s leading conservation storage and display expert by hosting a day of intimate and informal seminars at its Bedford-based manufacturing facilities.

On 11th September CXD welcomed a delegation of more than 75 museum, gallery and library professionals from across the UK for a series of free seminar talks given by a specially invited panel of key industry insiders.

With subject matters including anoxic storage, paper forgery, the use of vacuum equipment and phase boxing, the event addressed many of the major discoveries that have influenced the conservation sector over the course of the last 21 years.

Emma Murphy, Business Development Manager from CXD, commented: “We wanted to mark this significant milestone in the history of CXD by celebrating the depth and wealth of knowledge the industry has amassed since our business first launched in 1992.

“The feedback we received from delegates and speakers was overwhelming with many relishing the opportunity to network and share stories with other high profile conservators who, as they work in so many different fields, rarely get chance to meet.

“We are extremely humbled by the support we have received from people throughout the industry, not just during this event but over the course of the last 21 years, and are delighted to have been able to give something back by welcoming so many inspirational professionals to our celebrations.”
