National Manufacturing Debate – Accelerating UK Manufacturing Growth

The National Manufacturing Debate is an annual event hosted by Cranfield University. The event brings together manufacturing professionals from a range of sectors to discuss and debate current challenges in the industry, and encourage networking and collaboration across the sector to enable continued and long-term growth. Now into its seventh successful year, this FREE event will take place on 25 May 2016.
The theme for the 2016 event is Accelerating UK Manufacturing Growth. Following a range of presentations from keynote speakers in the morning, the Debate will take place in the afternoon. If you have any questions for the panel debate or any points you’d like raised please email them directly to Dr Patrick McLaughlin.

Put to a panel of experts. In particular we will be looking to answer the following:
- How can UK Manufacturing Growth match the best of the G7?
- What has UK manufacturing growth been since the 2008 recession?
- Why has UK manufacturing growth lagged some other countries?
- Can individual UK manufacturing companies influence UK manufacturing growth, or must it be government led?
- What actions does the UK need to take to improve manufacturing growth?

Pre Conference Manufacturing Tours and Event
Prior to the National Manufacturing Debate, delegates are invited to our Pre conference manufacturing tours and event starting from 11:00 on 24 May. Delegates will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities including: touring our manufacturing facilities, visiting the conference exhibition, seeing the results of the National Apprenticeship Competition and attending our Annual Manufacturing Alumni Lecture. The Manufacturing Debate Dinner will also take place in the evening.
