Nutrient Recovery & Digestate Managment in AD

This is the second in a series of free short courses is available to operators, consultants and other interested individuals involved, or planning to get involved in renewable energy technologies, following the successful first ‘Bio-Thermal RED (Renewable Energy Demonstrator)’ workshop in January,.
The aim of this session is to introduce the various considerations in nutrient recovery and digestate management. This will include aspects such as:
The current UK & EU policies
Economics of digestate management and utilisation
The changing nature of digestate
Utilising digestate successfully
It will be a full day workshop at Cranfield University, Bedfordshire (MK43 0AL) on the 27th of March 2014 and includes lunch. There will also be an opportunity for attendees to visit the new Food Waste large pilot-scale Anaerobic Digestate on the Cranfield University campus. Confirmed speakers include WRAP (Dr David Tompkins), REA (Dr Kiara Zennaro), and Dr Raffaella Villa (Cranfield University).
The ERDF funded workshop is available to SMEs (Small and Medium Sized Companies: 1-249 employees) in the East of England (Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Luton, Hertfordshire, Thurrock, Southend, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk). The companies must be less than 25% owned by a parent company, have a balance sheet of 43M Euro or less, an annual turnover of 50M Euro or less, and received less than 200,000 Euro of de minimis aid in the past 3 years.
