Graduate Development Programmes - University of Bedfordshire

Written by Paula Devine | 23 Nov 2017

Continuing the success of the last two Graduate Development Programmes, and the very positive outcomes for several of our graduates last year following the GDP, we are once again offering the opportunity for our Class of 2017.

Our recent graduates will be invited to take part in a paid development programme running alongside real work experience opportunities.

We invite you to offer a graduate a role, paid for by a central University of Bedfordshire budget, which provides meaningful, quality work experience which will support equipping our graduates with the skills they need for their future career paths.

The programme will begin with an Induction Day at the University on Friday 5 January 2018 when our graduates will arrive to complete relevant paperwork, are presented with information and advice from the Careers & Employability Service and HR.

The programme will run from Monday 8 January 2018 and we are seeking to offer opportunities that can be undertaken for 4 weeks (full time) or 6 weeks (part time).

N.B: Full time is for 4 weeks starting Monday 8 January until Friday 2 February
Full time hours should be no less than 35 hours per week.

Part time is for 6 weeks starting Monday 8 January until Friday 16 February.
Part time hours should be no less than 25 hours per week.

We are looking for requests from the local community to support our graduates:

• a specific piece of project work
• some research and analysis
• a role which is more task-orientated
• a start-up project which can be continued by your staff

Please consider also offering more generic placements so that no graduate will be turned away.

We do request that you try to make the opportunity as meaningful to a graduate a possible - pure administration support roles will not be accepted.

How to submit a request:

Please complete the attached form and return to the gdp@beds.ac.uk by no later than Friday 8 December

We cannot accept placement offers which are submitted without the attached Graduate Placement & Project Offer Form.

Please help to support our graduates.

If you have any questions or wish to discuss how else you can get involved with working with our students and graduates, do get in touch.
