Cycle commuting colleagues collectively covered over 250 miles when they got on their bikes to take part in national Cycle to Work Day. A total of 20 team members from the Leighton Buzzard based business used two wheels to travel to and from work.
Peli BioThermal, who specialise in the design and manufacturing of temperature-controlled packaging serving the life sciences and pharmaceuticals industry, took part in Cycle to Work Day to help raise awareness about the heath and environmental benefits of getting in the saddle.
Many of the pedaling Peli BioThermal colleagues regularly get on their bikes to commute to and from work. Fellow workers joined them in the cycling challenge, which took place on September 14th.
The aim of the national cycling event is to encourage everyone to take to two wheels and cycle to work for at least one day with a long-term aim of seeing one million people regularly cycle commuting by 2021.
Keen cyclist Peli BioThermal’s Director of Sales EMEA, Paul Terry, who clocked up a round trip of almost 60 miles in the saddle on the day, said: “We wanted to show our support for the Cycle to Work initiative and help encourage as many people as possible to get involved.
“Peli BioThermal helps cycling colleagues use two wheels wherever possible to get to work, including providing on site a secure bike station where they can lock and store their bicycles.
“It is something we feel passionate about as it also helps promote a healthy workforce and we were delighted with the number of our colleagues who got on their bicycles to take part.”
