UK's leading low carbon vehicle event returns to Millbrook

Written by Paula Devine | 11 Dec 2012

Cenex, the UK’s centre of excellence for low carbon and fuel cell technologies, will host its sixth annual Low Carbon Vehicle (LCV2013) event on 4 and 5 September at Millbrook Proving Ground.

Following the success of this year’s event, which attracted more than 1,800 visitors, including the newly appointed Minister of State for Business and Enterprise, Michael Fallon MP, who provided the key note speech on his first official duty in the role, Cenex has selected Millbrook again for both the 2013 and 2014 events.

LCV2013 will showcase the capabilities of UK technology providers and enable stakeholders in the low carbon vehicle industry to evaluate current and future technologies, to discuss issues facing the sector and to test drive the latest low carbon cars, vans, buses and trucks.

Robert Evans, CEO of Cenex explains: “The LCV2013 event promises to be the most significant yet. This is a really exciting time to be involved in the low carbon vehicle sector and we are proud of the position occupied by the annual event. LCV offers exhibitors and guests the most comprehensive access to the latest technologies and initiatives, plus provide the opportunity to engage in discussions that are driving the future of low carbon vehicles.

“Millbrook is the ideal location to hold LCV2013 and LCV2014, its combination of permanent and temporary venues and unique track facilities, coupled with Millbrook’s reputation for excellence in engineering makes it the logical choice for this event.”

Managing director of Millbrook Proving Ground, Miguel Fragoso explains: “We are thrilled that Cenex has chosen to host its annual low carbon vehicle event at Millbrook for a further two years. We look forward to welcoming automotive and low carbon experts from all over the world to the 2013 and 2014 events - some of whom will be existing customers and partners of Millbrook.

“Millbrook is in the privileged position of testing and developing more low carbon vehicles than anywhere else in the UK. We have the benefit of working with many vehicle manufacturers across a variety of markets, from motorcycles and passenger cars to buses and trucks. Inevitably this gives us an enviable insight into the exciting world of decarbonisation.”
